Number of risers = total rise ÷ 7.5 (ideal). Actual riser = total rise ÷ number of risers.
How the calculation works
Number of risers = total rise ÷ 7.5 (ideal riser height). Actual riser = total rise ÷ risers. Tread depth + 2 × riser ≈ 25 (comfort formula).
Example: 96 in total rise: 13 risers at 7.38 in each, 12 treads at 10 in deep.
