How the calculation works
Standard 8×8×16 block: ~1.125 blocks/sq ft (with mortar). 6 in: ~1.125. 4 in: ~1.125. Multiply wall area by blocks per sq ft, add waste.
Example: 40 × 8 ft wall with standard blocks and 5% waste needs about 378 blocks.
